The nose has notes of rhubarb, cherry, eucalyptus, and some sort of funky burned crouton bread. The taste is actually pretty substantial, yet light, with a lot of cherry and raspberry. There is also some bittersweet chocolate at the end. The finish is spicy and weighty with minimal tannic interference. I like this wine, but I don't think it's worth $30. It would, however, be a good deal for $20. I gave it the 4- without factoring in the price (3- with price factoring). Unless they mark this down as part of a clearance sale, I won't be purchasing anymore.
