This meritage/bordeaux blend is Cab Sav/Merlot/Cab Franc/Petit Verdot. I usually don't pay much attention to the color of the wine but I couldn't help notice how light this wine, considering the grapes. It looked much more like a pinot noir. I PNP and took a sip, it wasn't looking promising so I left it alone. After 1-2 hours it started to open up, dry, lot of black cherry, red fruit. Also gained some acidity and tannic grip, although short lived which resulted in a limited finish. I think it's priced right $9-$12 and the bottle looks nice so it would be a party crowd pleaser. I still can't get over how light it is.

PNP and consumed over a four hour period. Light in color, medium mouth feel. Red cherries and vanilla. Somewhat simple but improved over the course of consumption. At $10 at the PA State monopoly stores, a reasonable wine. Rated an 85 on CT. DTQPR = 87.55

I like the creamy red fruit nose to this. Pushes the limit for me as far as oak goes but not Sylvester Stallone (A bonus point to anyone who gets that movie reference). More vanilla creamy red fruit on the palate. Not a bad wine, but nothing to complain about at $10.
