Hmm, was expecting good things from this wine but it didn't happen. Too much fruit, vanilla, oak. Seemed flabby and the fruit had a tinge of that artificial flavor. I don't know, perhaps it was because I drank it after sipping on 2 old world wines. Lets see a few more ratings and maybe I'll give it another try.

I thought it was awful at the preview tasting. No personality.

You’re all wrong :-) To me, Marlstone represents a fairly consistent, good product year in and year out. This one is no exception. This cab-dominant blend offers notes of black currant, oak, cigar and mocha, and with some air time, blends together to deliver a full bodied, enjoyable wine. As they say in the professional reviews, “tasted twice with consistent notes”.

I'm with you bigred. I thought this was very nice at the PLCB tasting. Just goes to show that we all don't have the same palate.

Powerful nose, deep color, good blackberry and spice -- but a bit hot. Maybe still too young?
