An interesting wine - I enjoyed it but it is 20% sirah, which gives the wine a purple color and body unlike the typical pinot. This info is not on the label!

Wonderful flavors and aromas of fresh citrus, apples, and flowers. Juicy acidity makes this very refreshing and you want to drink more. Would be awesome with a lemon chicken.

Not as enjoyable as the 2004 but still a solid wine. Medium to full bodied. Subtle spice and red fruit flavors, finish is minimal. Very smooth drinking.

Aromas of dark cherry and cream with a spicy oak factor. A whole lot of flavor without being over the top in jammy fruit extraction. Dark cherry, a bit of chocolate on the palate. Really powerful finish with chalky tannins.

87PTS. I don't know what to make of this. It is an Old World style, but it is unbalanced because it is high in acid and tannins without much in the way of fruit. I would NOT under any circumstances dring this alone, but it was pretty good with my Pork Tenderloin at Matyson BYOB in Philly. We didn't decant, and it opened slightly after about 15 minutes but then stayed steady and didn't really improve over the next 30. I'm really not sure how people are getting extremely high ratings on this at this stage of its life.

90 pts. This is what you expect from a good St Emilion Bordeaux, subtle and nuanced merlot balanced by cab franc bite. Great mouthfeel. I agree wholeheartedly with WS. This has good blackberry and earthy notes, but it is not so gamey as some other Bordeaux. Fruit not as pronounced as new world merlot, but with air the blackberry becomes omnipresent. Surprisingly great cheese wine. I will wait a bit on my second bottle but I had a very good first impression.
