Whitehall Lane Winery and Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Friends and Family Napa Valley 2017
Rated by Worm on January 18, 2020

Rating 33+

Not going to surprise or disappoint. Fruity with some dusty tannins. I would repurchase.

Completely agree with Steve Pollack's notes. It was a good purchase.

Clos du Pere Clement Cotes du Rhone Villages Visan Cuvee Notre Dame 2010
Rated by Worm on August 18, 2015

Rating 33

Popped and poured and it was a bit bitter and needed food. After three days in the fridge I thought it was much better with the fruit showing much more.

Victor Vineyards Roadside Red 2011
Rated by Worm on January 6, 2015

Rating 33

Good for the price. Popped and poured and wasn't thrilled but after about 45 mins it improved a good bit. Zin and Petite Sirah dominate.

Cultivate The Feast 2010
Rated by Worm on November 26, 2014

Rating 44

This wine is a value at twice the price.

Goose Ridge Vineyards Riesling Estate 2013
Rated by Worm on November 22, 2014

Rating 33-

The winery notes are pretty good. I have no complaints for $8, for the quoted price of $15 it would have been disappointing. I will repurchase a couple.

Quinta do Vallado Douro 2011
Rated by Worm on November 17, 2014

Rating 33

very pruney but with enough acidity to keep it from being heavy. It's kind of like a baby port without the heat.

Dierberg Pinot Noir Santa Maria Valley 2010
Rated by Worm on October 4, 2014

Rating 44

I didn't get any weirdness. There is a cherry cola vibe but it has enough earthiness to keep it interesting.

Brady Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Rated by Worm on September 22, 2014

Rating 44-

I wish there was more to pick up.

Finca Flichman Paisaje de Barrancas 2010
Rated by Worm on May 12, 2014

Rating 44

I really like this wine. Nice fruit, acidity, and tannins in balance. Definite repurchase.

Bonny Doon Vineyard Contra 2012
Rated by Worm on April 30, 2014

Rating 33

I picked up a lot of black pepper similar to a zin. There was just a hint of a tarry finish. I'm splitting the difference with a 3 here. It's not bad and I think that it will go well with some grilled pork chops for dinner, but I don't think I will repurchase. Edit.. Better on day two. Some of the weirdness went away.

Santa Julia Magna 2011
Rated by Worm on March 20, 2014

Rating 33

sourness upfront changed to tartness (which I like) with some air. Nice wine.

Beringer Blanc Knights Valley 2011
Rated by Worm on March 6, 2014

Rating 33+

On the nose this has a pretty typical sauvignon blanc aroma. The flavors also are straightforward sauvignon blanc until the finish. where most would have cat pee or mineral this has tropical fruit/coconut flavors. (Think baby Conundrum) It won't win any awards but I really like it and I will probably pick up a case for summer.

Helfrich Pinot Gris 2008
Rated by Worm on November 26, 2013

Rating 33

Agree with the above ratings. I would suggest there is a dollop of sugar. My local shop only got a case or two in and I don't think they are even putting it out in the store. I tried one and went back for two more. One will make the trip to Thanksgiving dinner.

Vidal Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Rated by Worm on November 13, 2013

Rating 33+

This improved drastically with some air. After about 45 minutes in the glass it started to show well. Upon opening I had to get the Mrs. opinion on whether it was corked or not. It wasn't. I can't add anything to the existing notes. Not my cup of tea but not a bad mid week wine.

Barossa Shiraz SW102 Reserve 2011
Rated by Worm on October 3, 2013

Rating 33+

Light bodied with lots of finesse. I picked up some roasted meat flavors along with the fruit. I like it. A well priced bottle that is worth a repurchase IMHO.

Schug Pinot Noir Carneros 2010
Rated by Worm on July 20, 2013

Rating 33-

Not bad but not memorable. I picked up a lot of earth. It benefited with some air. I probably won't repurchase.

I agree with J2K's tasting note. I really enjoyed this wine. No Fooling.

What J2K said. I'm happy I have another.

Marchesi di Barolo Millennium 1990
Rated by Worm on April 26, 2013

Rating 44-

Lots of Cherry and nice acidity. A line of seawater or sweat running throughout the palate... but not off putting. This is the oldest wine I've tried to date and possibly the first Barolo that is not young. I did like it but I agree that one bottle was enough.

Jean Perrier et Fils Savoie Apremont Cuvee Gastronomie 2011
Rated by Worm on April 8, 2013

Citrus, mineral, and yeastiness. Nice mouthfeel. Agree with above comment about Champagne.

Red Rock Pinot Noir Reserve 2010
Rated by Worm on December 29, 2012

Rating 33

I was suprised by the touch earthiness and spice. For $7 I say give it a try. A crowd pleaser.

Penfolds Shiraz St. Henri 2005
Rated by Worm on November 27, 2012

Rating 55-

The first bottle I had a few months ago was off. This showed great with grilled lamb. Very big but balanced.

Chateau Bastor-Lamontagne Sauternes 2007
Rated by Worm on November 10, 2012

Rating 33

I think I may have had an off bottle. Muted nose and all honey and spice with only a brief flash of pineapple near the finish. More like mead than anything else...good but no fruit. It tasted like it was 10 years older than it is.

Steven Kent Winery Chardonnay Winemaker's Selection Central Coast 2010
Rated by Worm on September 2, 2012

Rating 33+

Loads of tropical fruit with a touch of oak with a noticable lack of alcohol on the finish. Probably fits the bill as a quaffer but it is the first chard that I've enjoyed in quite some time. Will grab a few more.

Roc de Chateauvieux Rose d'Anjou 2009
Rated by Worm on June 15, 2012

Rating 33

Strawberry and cherry dominate. Lightly sweet and enjoyable. Very nice at this price point. Probably will pick up one or two more for upcoming family events.

Charte d'Assemblage Blanc Gacscogne 2010
Rated by Worm on April 4, 2012

Rating 44-

A mountain of citrus flavor on the start, a bit of grassiness at the midpoint(but not overly so), and nice acidity on the finish. Probably the first no brainer repurchase white of the year for me. I have a hard time finding summer whites that aren't riesling but this fits the bill perfectly. Probalby would have given it a 3, but with this qpr I bumped it to 4.
