Under $10 Sale

Just got an email that there is an under $10 sale going on at PAWINEANDSPIRITS but don't see anything I am interested in buying. Am I missing something?

After doing some quick research, I was interested in the Montinore Muller Thurgau and Edgebaston Chardonnay but only a few bottles left by the time I logged on tonight.

I hit this thing hard. How can you go wrong with $5-$8 bottles. Try some different things you normally would not buy. The only thing left to do now is get everything put away before the wife gets home.

Space is how you go wrong, at least in my case. I had a twenty-bottle shopping cart going, before I visualized my apartment and dumped the lot. I have to start buying much more selectively, or I'll be buried alive in bottles of plonk.

Having said that, they actually have (had?) some very interestingly oddball stuff: the aforementioned Muller-Thurgau (Oregon Muller-Thurgau, mind you), a Refosco, a Zweigelt, and a wine made out of something called "Marechal Foch", which is entirely new to me, though not, it turns out, to Jancis Robinson...

Looks like their clearing out all their Wine Club wines. Nothing thrilling but I got an assorted case. I figured- avg $7, free shipping, everyday drinkers or company wine for the holidays....

You had free shipping?? How did you get that? I was charged $10!

Every order over $200 gets shipped for free. Sometimes they have had completely free shipping as a promotion, usually around the Holidays, but that one's available year-round.

My order was only $82 and I had free shipping. All the bottles seemed to have to "FS" next to them-Free Shipping.

Bottles were free shipping if they were also listed under the "connection selection" section. Most were, but a few were not. Connection selections have always been free shipping.
