Found this on the shelves then found it reviewed. Seems to be on sale too.

Can't remember the vintage, but if you are looking to try a Malbec this might be an opportunity.

An update - no a good wine. I could not finish it. Sour aftertaste.

I agree the Quara is a bit rough around the edges.

To truly get a great bottle of Malbec from a great house, try Catenna's Alamos line of wines. Their Alamos Malbec is lovely!!!

As soon as I introduce it to people, it becomes a favorite.

Deep purple color with dark black fruit(blackberry, raspberry) and spicy nose. I found that the dark fruit notes were uneven, but wonderful when they peaked through. Solid semi-dry finish with a touch of cocoa/coffee. I believe decanting (which I do not typically do) would improve the even-ness and bring the dark fruit notes out better.

Great with strong flavors

This is an excellent wine for pairing with food with strong flavors - wine is able to hold it's own, but isn't too complex to be enjoyed by itself.

What a red head!

After trying different Malbecs, none compare to this one. It has a smoky flavor that has made it my favorite red wine. It blends wonderfully with traditional red wine dishes and is super with barbecue. Do yourself a favor and try it!

Full bodied red

A little edgy out of the bottle. But decanting this wine smoothes out the rough edges considerably and brings out the fruit. Complex and enjoyable.

Speaking of Malbec I had Pascual Toso Reserve Malbec 2005 at my brother-in-law's in Virginia over Thanksgiving. It was the best Malbec I've ever had (but I haven't had many!). Started rather fruity and ended very smoky, the finish reminded me of beef jerky. Unfortunately it was not under $10, but $17 in Virginia. The LCB doesn't seem to carry it.

I have had both the Pascual Toso 2005 and the Quara. Have to say I disagree with the Quara aftertaste (dwinfield) but I did let it air out a bit before I tasted. Not bad for $10 (Doylestown). Check it out here.
