This is the wine version of the stock broker 'reiterate' since the rating section doesn't allow for 2nd ratings. Served the Canto before the holidays with some friends who brought much pricier reds and it was the hands down winner. Then went out & inadvertantly bought the Merlot thinking it was the Canto and had less happy results. Served it after opening a Quoru, Barbera, Niebaum Coppola Cab and Mondavi Cab and the Luna Merlot came off fairly flat. Perhaps the circumstances weren't fair but the Merlot definitely didn't hold up like the Canto. I've gotten gunshy about dissing Merlots as a kind of 'reverse Sideways' reaction but this one tasted like it could have used another couple of grapes to blend. Anybody else tried this yet?

Sorry-after that rant I neglected to post the '3' rating. Probably a little harsher than it deserves but comparing it to the Quorum or the BV Chardonnay, which received 4's, this should be rated lower. Plus it leaves room for the more experienced skaters to be rated higher later...
