I'm pretty sure our Heitz is the Martha's Vinyard. We had the regular bottling earlier this year - for $30/btl.

So there.

I got a look at the full price list, and you may trust me: the prices on the half-dozen wines I checked were substantially below anything I could find on WineSearcher.

Does anyone know what time this sale starts? I tried at midnight and every half hour since 6am.
I have to go to work now and have no access to my home e-mail there so if someone could post if they update the anouncement, I'd appreciate it.

Sale has been going since ~8 am with new items being added. It looks like most everything is listed by now.

I gave up. I started shopping the sale around 8:30 - every few minutes more wine would be added to the sale list on-line. Then all at once the stuff I had already placed in my shopping cart started to show no longer available. What are you supposed to do, go through the checkout process with each wine rather as a single order?

They can't run a liquor business and they want to take over health care...

Same thing happened to me.

"Perrier Jouet Fleur de Champagne 1996 1.5L" is listed on the sale. Add to cart - fine. Checkout - "Only 0 bottles of Perrier Jouet Fleur de Champagne are available at this time." Go back to sale. Wine is still listed. Tried several times with the same results.

If no bottles are available, why does it let me add it to my cart? Idiotic.

I was asked not to display it. Multiple allegiances.

As to availability, Jane made it clear, and I tried to convey, that this was always going to be a dog-eat-dog sale, what with as little as a case available on most of these - and some wines on the original list never making it to the sale at all. I don't think there's anyway to avoid some of the problems mentioned, since you have any number of people at any one time adding a limited number of bottles to their cart. But then, I'm not terribly good with computers.

All this does make me a bit happier that I decided to give this one a pass. I'm sure I would have been much less philosophical if it had happened to me.

Just curious - who is Jane?
I ended up going back and picking up a few bottles - looks like the initial rush has passed as the remaining items have been steady for the last hour or so.

Prices I checked we well below CT averages and Winebid current values.

Jane is the Customer Service person at the Online Store. She is also one of the most helpful, and pleasantest, people I have ever encountered, in that or any other capacity.

You know, I hadn't thought to use CellarTracker that way. I should, really, since I paid in.

And how do you check WineBid current values?

And how do you check WineBid current values?

Once you pay CT, it shows up automatically in the "Drinking Window, Wishlists and Values" area. The average prices paid by CT members is shown as well as WineBid's quarterly average selling price (if applicable). Most of the sale items I checked did show WineBid values.

Well, I logged on this morning and purchased some bottles. Then logged back on and got a few more :-). I told myself I wouldn't but, what can I say, I am weak!
I'm glad the sale didn't start at midnight last night. I crushed a bottle of Kilikanoon Shiraz last night and would have ordered a lot more in that heightened condition :-)

There are some good Chairman Selections coming also, to name a few-
Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 $65
Two Hands Bella's Garden Shiraz, Barossa Valley 2007 $35
Nozzole Chianti Classico La Forra Reserve 2004 $25
Tait Basket Pressed Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia 2006
Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2005 $25
Michelle Chiarlo Barolo 2004 $35

I had the 2001 Nozzole Chianti La Forra and it was the bomb!!!
