this haut medoc wine is on sale in my local store for 16.99 and they have a shelf full. Opened one up the other night and found it quite drinkable now and should store for 5-7 years.

Thanks for the heads up. This one isn't a Chairman's Selection but is an equally good buy. I haven't heard much about the 2003 vintage here or abroad but everything tried so far has been equal to the vaunted '02.

For what it's worth, the LCB has a link on their site to a vintage chart in the free section of
eRobertParker.com
. It is an eye chart in every sense of the word but may provide some guidance.

2000 is rated as extraordinary and has been compared to '82 and '61.
2003 is rated a high outstanding, so any good producer is going to have a wine that will sit for 5-8 years. Greysac is mentioned in Parker's book and since the LCB doesn't price by vintage this is clearly one to stock up on.
2005, BTW - which is still in futures, is also an Outstanding year for this area.
