A limited number of PICCINI SASSO IGT are available in 3L format. Should be fun to open at a party over the next few years and a great price for 4-bottles of wine!

The POGGIO IL CASTELLARE BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 04 are also available in 3L and 1.5L format with only a small markup for the larger bottle over the 750mL.

My son was born in 04, so I am contemplating these for 21st B-day, or a wedding rehearsal dinner wine. Other sites suggest these may not make it past his high school graduation, although the large format should help the aging window. Well, at least the parents will drink well :0)

I bought the 3L bottle of Piccini Sasso but plan on opening it for the visiting masses on Christmas day. It even has a festive looking label. I thought it was a pretty good buy, avg $12 a bottle.

I would wait a while on the Poggio Il Castellare, but 2025 may be a stretch!

J2K, Look forward to seeing a tasting note once you try the Piccini. Wondering if this could age for a few years??

Yes, I think I will forgo the Poggio Il Castellare. There seem to be some other '04 Italians that might be better built to make it to his 21st.
