Palate Partners/Dreadnought Wines Announce New Fall Class Series
Palate Partners and Dreadnought Wines in the Strip District present a regular series of Wine Classes. The classes have been developed to meet the ever changing and diverse needs of their patrons, and range from classes aimed at helping beginner oenophiliacs break into the wonderful world of wines, to more specialized classes geared toward specific grape or regional wine appreciations. Some are single classes, while others are presented in a series. They cover a wide variety of subjects, but all help to de-mystify wine and its unique terminology. The Wine Classes are most frequently taught by Mike Gonze, President of Dreadnought Wines, who offers over twenty years of wine teaching experience and is a member of the Society of Wine Educators, with occasional classes featuring a guest wine expert.

Riedel Tasting
Thursday, October 23 –6:30 - 8:00 PM
Claus Riedel was the first person in the long history of the glass to design its shape according to the character of the wine. He is thus the inventor of the functional wine glass.
Forty years ago he began his pioneering work to create stemware that would match and complement different wines and spirits. In the late 1950s, Riedel started to produce glasses, which at that time were a design revolution. Thin-blown, unadorned, reducing the design to its essence: Bowl, stem, base.
Working with experienced tasters, Riedel discovered that wine enjoyed from his glasses showed more depth and better balance than when served in other glasses. Claus J. Riedel laid the groundwork for stemware which was functional as well as beautiful, and made according to the Bauhaus design principle: form follows function.
Students will experience 4 glasses - Vinum series Bordeaux/Cabernet, Burgundy/Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay - to learn how the shape of the glass is important to the taste of the wine, and will get to take the glasses home (a suggested retail value of $111.25).
$110.00 per person
