I'm still in for 4.

Are we doing Pinot/Burgs or whatever?

OK –
Here is what I have for the total participating for Fri Jan 22:

bigred – 2
J2K – 4
dontime -2
ecola – 1 ?
mark – 1
jonradus -4
jlburd – 2
hawk – 1

17 total – any I left off?

The restaurant is prepared for 20+, so we should be fine, but Friday I will give them an updated count.

Also, have not heard much back on the food aspect, so I will probably let them know it's just appetizers unless I hear otherwise from the group by Fri.

J2K – I think your "pinot/burgs or whatever" note captures it; I think it's going to be a conglomeration from the pinot family.

Sounds good. I plan on bringing three or four bottles now (since there will be four of us): French Volnay, Oregon Pinot, California Pinot, and maybe another French Burgundy or a New Zealand Pinot (depending on what I find/what I feel like).

I'm trying to catch up.
Is the tasting on Jan 22nd at Pizzutti's?
Is a time set?
It looks like we're going to do another blind tasting with a focus on Pinot.

Hello,
One of my fellow wine appreciators forwarded me your link and suggested that I let you know that I have a facility, Sigmas Conference & Event Center, that has a very warm/quaint atmosphere that might be great for one of your tastings. We have hosted a couple of Lolonis wine dinners here and also do occasional wine tastings for a variety of wines and could easily accomodate your group privately. We have a "single professionals wine tasting" on Jan. 30th and a Valentine's Day Wine dinner on Feb. 13th, but can host private events as well. We can provide whatever food you'd like to compliment your wines, but we would have to know in advance. Please feel free to contact me if you have any interest. Thank you for your consideration!

To avoid any duplicates for this blind tasting and since we know the wines will be Pinot/Burgs ;-) here is what my crew is bringing.

2005 Casa Marin Pinot Noir Cartagena Lo Abarca (Chile, Aconcagua, San Antonio Valley)
2006 Villa Maria Pinot Noir Cellar Selection (New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough)
2004 Louis Jadot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru)
2005 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Bourgogne (France, Burgundy, Bourgogne)

BTW...on the food front, are we doing apps, entrees, or is it game time decision? Do you have to let them know beforehand?

Following J2K's lead, here's what I'm bringing.

2006 Erath Estate Selection Pinot Noir (USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills)
2002 Bouchard Pere et Fils Volnay Caillerets Ancienne Cuvee Carnot (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru)
2006 Domaine Vincent Girardin Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravières (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Santenay 1er Cru)

One more as yet undecided.

As of this moment - I plan to bring:
2006 DeLoach Vineyards Pinot Noir O.F.S. (USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley)
2006 Dromana Estate Pinot Noir (Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Mornington Peninsula)

There is going to be a lot of pinot - looks like a bottle per person.

I will be bringing:

2006 Kunstler Pinot Noir, (Germany, Rheingau)
2nd bottle - still TBD...

I told the restaurant we will do apps since I did not hear anything from the group- as mentioned in an ealier note, they wanted a week's notice on the pre-fixe dinners (a requirement for parties 15+). They seem to have quite a selection, though.

I just spoke with Mr. Burd, and he informed me of this Pinot thing. Sounds great. Please put me in for 1. Sorry about the last minute response.
I will bring Jeff's Williams Selyem (he planned on getting the bottle from me), Sonoma Coast Pinot. I will bring a Gary Farrell Ramal Vineyard Pinot on behalf of myself.

Any word on stemware?

Stemware - they have only mid-grade stemware from what I recall, you may want to bring the "good stuff" if so inclined.

Just a reminder the restaurant is CASH or personal check only.
