Ya, I'll bring the tasting notes sheets and an Italian or Aussie Cab blend.

Thanks J2K.
I had dinner at the restaurant last Saturday and we will have two rooms upstairs to ourselves. One for dinner and one that we can use to organize the wine, etc. No worries about early departures - we can stay until the bottles are empty.

Super pumped about Friday night, just came back from a killer tasting and ready for more. Wine tastes sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better with friends.

Stems -

Palazzo's has decent enough stems, but they are the "bowl" shaped variety. If you prefer something different, you may want to bring your own.

Boy, it sounds like ecola has been sipping some of jonradus' Ares!

Let me tell you something, I am just as enthused as ecola about this tasting. Wine really is something to be experienced with friends ...and, with good friends, a private room (thanks to dontime), and some premium cabs forthcoming, this has the ingredients of an epic tasting. Let's rock.

I know what you mean J2K - when I had dinner at Palazzo's last weekend I took a bottle of 04 Cakebread just to get warmed up...

Looks like 2 for me.
My brother in law is coming in from Ohio, but my nephew had to cancel because of work conflict.

I'll be bringing a 2003 Cali Cab.

So does J2K have to go to the principal's office or does he just have to sit in the corner tomorrow night?

Bringing a Chilean and a Lake County.

Washing J2K's mouth out with soap would be very unfair before a wine tasting...

Yes let's make him sit in a corner and watch us drink whatever he brings tonight.

Which, by the way, we may need to consider rescheduling (*GASP*) given the current weather conditions. How/when do we make the call? I think it should probably be up to dontime since I believe he lives closest to the venue.

Tapering off by lunchtime. Drinking at dinner. No reschedule is my vote

Snow appears to be easing up some, advisory until 7pm but they typically err on the side of caution with these. I vote to keep as is, and will make every (safe) effort to come. Curious to see if dontime's area (SW region) is lighter than what we are seeing here.

I justed looked out my office window (Southpointe) and there is no accumulation on the cars in the parking lot, so I think it is pretty light down here. The route is I-79 to Racetrack to 19 - all well maintained roads.

Palazzos has been great to work with, and I would really like to avoid cancelling or having a lot less than we have planned for, but obviously I want everyone to be safe.

Actually I might have to sit in the corner by myself. I seemed to have caught the affliction yesterday and am not feeling 100%. I'm still planning on making it tonight but that would be the only thing to stop me, not the weather or snow.

Besides, it's only 3-4 inches!! That's what she sai........ oops, sorry back to the corner :-)

Just got back from a downtown to Robinson run - the roads are fine. See you all this evening.

sorry guys, too much snow now for my 30mi trek from my NW suburb - nearly ran into an idiot driving a porsche up a snow covered hill sliding every which way. sorry dontime for the late notice, was really looking forward to this but it's just coming down to hard now and apparently the rest of the evening. hope all have fun who can make it.

Also, sorry...but my wife and I are out. We have to drive too far from the North Hills to deal with crappy road conditions on our way there, and even worse, on the way back...and it doesn't look like it's going to let up within the next few hours.

I'd be willing to do another tasting there, or anywhere, if anyone is interested in the very near future. Maybe tomorrow night? Next week?

I think its too late to cancel as I have no idea who might already be on their way. I still plan to go in case others show up. I am not available tomorrow night or next weekend, so any near-term events won't work for me.

Hope everyone made it home safely. The weather was certainly a mess. Maybe we should have the next one in Bermuda?

Don/Carol. Thanks for setting up such a nice event. Palazzo is on my list to try again when the weather cooperates.

Tony. Thanks for the ride home. My wife especially thanks you because she didn't have to pick me up in such bad weather.

All. Thanks for the great wines and better conversation.

I took me a while to arrive home safely but I didn't mind because I could still taste the Screaming Eagle the whole way!

Thank goodness the wine was up to the risk/reward ratio for the evening. Tough conditions but the Cab was worth it. Again, my apologies for spilling most of the Screaming Eagle on the floor.
