You'll want to go home and cook all the goodies you've purchased in the Strip with the new wine knowledge you've picked up!

Wine Tour Of Spain

Since Mike and Deb returned from Spain where they sampled wines and savored the local 'sabor', they have been wanting to share their experiences with Pittsburgh. Dreadnought has represented various wines from the many regions of Spain for years. This evening's class will share their experiences and knowledge, and students will sample several Spanish wines, as well as one of the most praised Spanish dishes—Paella! (pie-eh-yah)

Red, White & Rhone Class

The Rhône is France's largest quality wine region after Bordeaux. The Northern Rhône vineyards start just around Vienne and then the Southern Rhône starts again at Avignon. In the North the red grape is Syrah and the white viognier. In the South Grenache and Cinsault is planted.
The Northern Rhône includes the world-class vineyards of Cote Rotie, Hermitage, Crozes Hermitages, Condrieu, St Joseph and Cornas whilst the Southern Rhône is dominated by the famous appellation of Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise.
This is one of Mike's favorite wine regions, and in this class he will share his knowledge, and introduce students to the many different grapes of the region. Sample both red and white Rhone varietals.

Wednesday, June 16th, 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Mike Gonze and Deb Mortillaro partner in this fun and flavorful class that brings together fine wines and the hot grill. From vegetables to seafood, learn which wines best compliment the upcoming (and long awaited) summer grilling season. Students will sample wines along with foods prepared on the grill, and walk away from this class with the knowledge to elevate that back yard barbecue into an impressive occasion.
We've done this class many times, so we're switching up the grilling items for a whole new flavor base!
