I figure you have to eat dinner every night anyway - why not make it a wine dinner? Stagioni on Carson Street has no corkage fee on Tuesday evenings. Would anyone like to meet there on Tuesday, July 24th, say, at 7:00?

Here's a link to their menu: http://stagionipgh.com/menu.php

This is a great idea but we're in Bedford Springs that evening.

No theme, non-blind, six persons but one only takes very small tastes...

Wines I know are coming are unusual Italian ones: 2010 Pieropan Calvarino, 1983 Morbelli Carema, 2014 Punta Crena Rossese

A good time last night!

Stagioni is located in the space formerly occupied by Le Pommier, where several of us had dined in days gone by.

The hanger steak was a popular entree, while our server Annabelle recommended the roast chicken. The lone person in our party to take her advice was thrilled to have done so.

The wines included two Nebbiolos, which were old (2000) and older (1983). Despite the fact that the bearers of each made respective apologies for their not being livelier, both had surprising amounts of life. A bottle of Maculan Dindarello rounded out the evening rather nicely.

Good time. On my way out, Annabelle said to me, “I enjoyed the banter!”
