Sheep Dip Islay Blended Malt was the #13 (?) whisky of the year (Whisky Advocate) for 2018, at $60/750ml list price. (Which I've seen in stores previously, e.g., Total Wine in Connecticut.) Never had it personally.
So, I was surprised to see in on the PLCB online store at $4.99/200ml. That's $80/liter list vs. $25/liter PLCB.
I did a flyer on several bottles, thinking maybe it was a mistake (e.g., wrong listing or size), but no, it's really the Sheep Dip Islay blend at $4.99/200ml.
I picked up my order at UPS today, and while it's not the best Islay I've ever had, it's very, very good for the price. Smooth (smooth enough to drink straight), with nice peaty character. Good enough that I immediately ordered 20 more bottles to get over the free shipping limit.
Anyway, this is a solid deal, and the bottles are cute - think ahead for stocking stuffers for next Christmas.
(P.S. I live in Erie and am not a robot or affiliated in any way with PLCB :)
