For those of you who have been contributing to the site for a while now, THANK YOU. Wanted to give you a heads up.

The PLCB recycles their 5-digit product codes. After a wine sells out, the code seems to go into limbo for a while and then resurfaces attached to a new product. PAWineTalk tracks wines as well as ratings entered by users via the same code number. In order to keep up, and to prevent users' ratings from being attached to a different/new wine, we will need to begin removing older ratings from PAWineTalk for wines whose code #s have been recycled by the PLCB.

We hope this isn't a huge inconvenience. Please reply if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks

Would it be possible to have an archive section where those reviews could be placed? I'd like to read the review if it is something I am waiting to open, or compare the differences in a few years. I have my own notes on cork'd, but would still like to read others.

That's a nice idea. We'll look into the possibility.

This bit me too. It's not uncommon for SLO product codes to be reused within the same week. I kind of wonder if it screws up the distributor's order processing if a code is removed and reused while an SLO is being fulfilled.
