Starts June 1 according to my source at the PLCB. A lot of whites and dessert wine is the word (with a few reds). I'm heading to Chicago on Tuesday, so will leave it to the rest of you to clean up on the deals!

Glad to hear there will be another sale....Last year it was on July 1st!

Would someone post a list when you get it?
Might need to go to the office a little late on Tuesday....:o)

Gosh darn it! Just when the ol' credit card was beginning to cool down.

Anyone know if this is a store-based or online sale?

Just heard from the source. There is no online sale. They are just reducing some luxury codes which will result in some items being reduced. No word on those items yet.

'Kay. Guess I can stop gnawing on my keyboard, then.

Thanks for the heads-up, Jeff.

Cap,
Slowly....step away from the credit card!!

btw....it's James. I'm so hurt. After the wonderful time we spent together in Philly, you forgot my name. Guess I'm just another warm body with a bottle of wine to you ;-)

You have a body behind that handsome bottle?

You're sure your name is "James"? I coulda sworn... Well, I suppose I should be nice to the man holding my ah-ha - "James" ol' buddy ol' pal!

So, anyone know what the deal with this sale is, exactly? Is it just going to be a bunch of new listings in the "Clearance" catalog category, or... Or what?

Okay, so was Don's tip entirely off? I can find no evidence that any prices have changed, at the online store or otherwise.

Apparently it was for today...sorry to be wrong, but the info came directly from a PLCB store manager.

It's all good. I'd much rather have information that doesn't quite pan out than miss out on a sale.

I suspect there was some basis for the tip, and not being able to figure out what it is is driving me nuts, but it's the healthy kind of insanity.

There are some intriguing things in the clearance category, but as usual a lot depends on the vintages and on storage...

I don't know if anyone noticed, but the 2008 Far Niente chardonnay was selling for $23.99 when it was first introduced on the PA website a couple weeks ago. I noticed that it was marked as $49.99 for in-store purchase and I bought a 6-pack online for the $23.99 price. Soon after, the online stock was gone. Currently, the 2008 Far Niente chardonnay is back online and selling for $49.99. Was this just an online error at first, or was this done on purpose? Anyone else pick it up for the "discounted" price.

So I guess the Sale didn't pan out this time. I wonder, will there be a big Chairman's clearance sale again this year on July 1st?

If anyone gets wind please post it here.

I still believe there were some in-store reductions (on June 1) based on recent visits to a couple of stores. They were not Chairman's Selections and were limited in scope.

Hoping for another big July 1 Chairman's sales although the wallet isn't....
