Premium Power Purchase

There is currently no definitive list of "Premium Power Purchase" wines on any of the LCB web sites (at least that I am aware of). Some were previously listed on the Upcoming Chairman's Selection page and then removed, as pointed out by ecola here.
As a result those ones are shown as "Coming Soon" on the Chairman's page when in fact they are currently available.

Without an updated list available, there is no easy way to show these wines on PAWineTalk. We're looking into other ways for PAWineTalk users to track, find, and rate these wines like the Chairman's/Sommelier and Power Purchase wines. In the meantime if you've tried any of these please post in the Forums!

Thanks

Thanks for looking into this. Amazing how well the PLCB promotes their new programs?

Saw the Truchard Zinfandel 04 in the Clarks Summit store. Only about 5 cases. The new signage did show Premium Power Purchase.

14508 Trinchero Napa Valley Cabernet Franc 2005 $17.99
13721 Truchard Zinfandel 2004 $14.99
26049 Valdubon Reserva Red Blend 2002 $17.99

I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to try several of these, and my favorites are on the front page of PAWineTalk. The Helfrich Gewurtztraminer also was pretty good though I'm not much of a semi-sweet fan. I think my least favorite of the bunch was Cosentino Med which I simply did not like at all. The two from Santa Ana represent good values though interestingly both turned ever so slightly bitter or sour on the finish which may have just been me, not sure. Torrontes is really similar to Sauvignon Blanc.

I hope this helps

I've had a few of these so far. My confidence in the PLCB is starting to come back a little. The Valdubon Reserva rocked! The Zins from Kenwood and Lake Sonoma both were really good. Wine Enthusiast rated them on 4/1/08 and gave them both 90 points. Didn't care much for the Truchard Zin or either of the Santa Ana wines. I did like the Cosentino Med, I thought it offered more meaty fruit than the 05. The Ice Wine is also a must try.

Had the EMM Chardonnay last night. Really nice nose, floral and apple. I enjoyed the wine although the finish didn't quite hold up. Still, better than most $10 chards I've tasted.

OK we're going to try a Premium Power Purchase page. It may not be 100% accurate but we'll do our best to keep it current. Please, if you see something listed which shouldn't be, or something missing which you think should be included, please fill out the feedback form at the bottom of the page.

And of course, any comments or general feedback is always welcome!

Thanks for adding this section, it looks really good. I added some reviews. when I tried to review a wine that had been reviewed by someone else I got a message saying "reviews for this wine are not being accepted". Keep up all the good work.

Thanks for the catch.
