Online SLO

Tried my first online SLO order... 6 single bottles from one supplier (Regal Wine Imports), not because I had to, but I thought I'd try to help them out since they have to ship and single orders can be costly.

Couple things to note:

1) System does not seem to group orders from the same company together -- at least from the freight charges, $3 per bottle, which goes down if you order more than one of the same bottle I guess.

2) The supplier promptly cancelled my order.

Anyone else give it a go?

I knew they were rolling out a new process but my experience is just with the old manual (phone call) system so far. With that, there were a lot of wines listed as available which in fact were not. When I called and requested an item the first thing the LCB did was contact the supplier to see if it was still available. Suppliers had no incentive to go back and de-list items that had sold out, and the LCB could say they offered way more items than were actually available. So, I'm wondering if your item actually isn't available?

Definitely possible - they are not listed anymore. Gonna keep trying until I find one.

But I also know that suppliers are pissed about the new rule where they can no longer set minimum orders, so it's also possible that they'd cancel the order and relist later.

Many are also going the "licensee only" route to protect from single consumer orders, which limits our selection as consumers.
