Question:

I received this e-mail from Pawinetalk:

December 28th
The following wines were previously unavailable but have been added to the list of Current Chairman's Selections:
Gundlach Bundschu Cabernet Sauvignon Block 13 2005, $12.99, PLCB Code: 12092

I assume that means PLCB has purchased additional cases of this Cabernet, and they will become available shortly?

At present there are only 4 bottles state wide.

Does anyone have further insight to how PLCB distribute Chairman's
selections?

Typically yes it means that more is either in stores or will be soon. How much more is anyone's guess. Strictly speaking, that notification is triggered when the wine has been added back to the "Chairman's Selection Now In Stores" list maintained on the lcb web site.

Admin,

Thank you for your quick reply.

In asking the question, I was hoping that more of the Block 13 Cabernet would be arriving in stores, and I have been watching daily!(ya I know, I need to get a hobby) In an e-mail dated November 27th it was removed from the current list, so when I saw the e-mail dated December 28th, I was very pleased. A similar situation happened with the Kaiken Ultra Cabernet and withing a day or two 500 additional cases became available state wide.

I figured that was what would happen with the block 13 cab.

Thank you again, I will keep checking the product search page :o).

Why not set up a notification. Start on the Notifications page and select "Availability of individual wines." Put in code # 12092 and select a store. You could create a couple notifications, each for different stores (pick the biggest/busiest near you), and then you'll get an e-mail if/when it comes in stock in that store.

OK,

This story gets even stranger:

On again off again Gundlach Bundschu Cabernet Sauvignon Block 13 2005,

On Wednesday, January 7th 1 case(12 bottles) of this wine showed up at a chester county store...Friday evening they were gone!

in an e-mail dated Friday January 9th 12:10pm Gund/Bund cab sav was again removed from the Chairmans Selection!

The following wines have been removed from the list of Current Chairman's Selections (act fast if you still want them!):
Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone Rose Belleruche 2007, $8.99, PLCB Code: 21239
Gundlach Bundschu Cabernet Sauvignon Block 13 2005, $12.99, PLCB Code: 12092
Jean Bosquet Malbec Reserva, Medoza, Argentina 2006, $12.99, PLCB Code: 10278

On Saturday Afternoon January 10th 12:10 pm The wine seems be be added back to the Chairman's Selection????

The following wines were previously unavailable but have been added to the list of Current Chairman's Selections:
Gundlach Bundschu Cabernet Sauvignon Block 13 2005, $12.99, PLCB Code: 12092

Very Strange.

Hope some shows up at my local stores soon.

Not sure how 'east' in PA you are but I was in Lancaster for a brother's birthday this weekend & stopped by the Hawthorne Centre wine store (on Fruitville Pike a couple lights north of the exit on Route 30) to see what was selling that was being horded in that part of the state. There was a pile of the Kaiken '06 Cab. According to the PLCB website there are 440+ bottles there so if Lancaster is a hike they can ship some your way

Jeff,

Yes the Kaiken is back on some of the store shelves. It seems to have been shipped to places that it was not available the first time. I should amend my Kaiken rating to reflect the fact there is more available state wide. We don't have any available in our county(montgomery) but I did visit the Cedar Crest Blvd store in Leheigh County last weekend and stocked up! :o)

Just to finish the Gundlach Bundschu Cabernet Sauvignon Block 13 2005 saga the state pulled it from the active Chairmans list again(3rd time) about a week ago. Wonder what happened?

Regards and thanks for your note,

Eastpa
