Thanks Zip. I never got that email, perhaps it only went to licensees?

I was curious about the Leroy Burgundy. I've never had it but read some nice things. Previous sale price was $119, well above my "let's take a shot" price point, but figured if it came down under $50 I'd be willing. Well I woke up early (earlier than intended), just jumped online and it's already gone! No idea how much it sold for, or how much there was available, but in hindsight it may have been better to have just stayed up late Sunday night. Most things appear to have been cut an additional 50% or so from their already discounted price. Oh well.

I stayed up late Sunday and was able to get the Pine Ridge Oakville Cab for $19.99 and The Frazier Cab for $14.99.

They must have been updating inventory "live".

Hope they do these things more often!.

Zip

Thanks for the heads up, although I made the mistake of thinking I could sleep Sunday night as well! Had my eye on the Frazier & Giusto di Norti. I got nothing & liked it!

I logged on at 12:10am and there were many items already gone. Cheval Blanc, Pape Clement, Gugal Hermitage, Marc Sorrel, Nieport, EIEIO Pinots and many others were out. The Cheval Blanc showed 97 in inventory. Seems strange how all those items could sell in 10-15 minutes. Conspiracy?!?

Anyway, I was able to order some TUA RITA REDIGAFFI, TUA RITA GIUSTO DI NOTRI, FEUDI DI SAN GREGORIO IRPINIA SERPICO, the Vilafonte's C & M, the V2, and a few others.

So I stayed up to check out this sale. Ordered 16 bottles. Some was already gone when I went to check out. I could not get the quick check out to work, so I did it the regular way. That seemed to work and I was off to bed. Every time I order online I always print the conformation page, well this time I didn't. It seems as if my order was lost in cyber spce somewhere because I received no conformation e-mail and my checking account has not changed. I was mad, so I thought I would call my Dad who orders online all the time and ask him if this has happened to him. After whining about not getting this wine he told me that him and my mom were in a car accident, sliding all over the road and hitting a telephone pole. They walked away without a scratch, but the car is toast. Moral of the story is KEEP PERSPECTIVE. I was pissed because I didn't have my wine, but still having my parents is way more important than fermented grape juice at half price. This really made me think about what is important. KEEP PERSPECTIVE.

Eric: did you check that you don't have a pending order? As I recall from past sales, I wasn't charged for my orders until they shipped, and that was over a week after I placed them. Given how unreliable many of their systems are, I wouldn't be surprised if your order *was* lost - but I wouldn't be surprised if they just failed to send a confirmation, either.

Here is the e-mail I received explaining what happened to my order.

Mr. Colallela,

Your order could not be completed due to insufficient inventory. The site should not have allowed you to complete the order and I apologize for this error we are working to correct it. Your card has not been charged and the order has been cancelled. I apologize for the error and any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Wow. They really need to work on this, if they're going to hold these Sales regularly. I had one wine dropped from a purchase once, but I assumed it was an aberration.
