FYI

There will be a 20% off sale for remaining inventory of all current Chairman's Selection™ and Sommelier Collection wines from March 16-22. This is apparently to make room for all new selections coming in the spring. Sale will also be available online at pawineandspirits.com with free shipping on orders over $200.

Is this a prelude to the death of the CS Program? I noticed 4 wines (Helfrich Gewurtztraminer Steinklotz Grand Cru 2001, $12.99 #21230, Louis Latour Montagny 1er Cru La Grande Roche 1999, $12.99 18980
Simi Russian River Chardonnay 2005, $14.99, 16217, Truchard Zinfandel 2004, $14.99, PLCB Code #13721) were on the upcoming CS list and then dissapeared. Now here they are. When you click on these wines on pawineandspirits.com it says they are "Premium Power Purchases." What does anyone know?

I'm being told no it's not the end of the program, they are just doing a reset on the current offerings.

As to wines appearing, disappearing, and reappearing, I totally agree, I've seen a lot of that lately and don't have a lot of faith in the lists on lcb web site. Take Buena Vista Chardonnay for example: one listing is "Buena Vista Chardonnay Ramal Vineyard Carneros 2004" while the next is "Buena Vista Carneros Estate Vineyard Chardonnay 2005" In reality it's two different vintages of THE SAME WINE! Why can't they be consistent? Some of my favorite listings are "Attems Tocai Friulano 2004 2004" and "Bodega Norton Privada 2005 2005." There are many other examples...just get the feeling that whoever is maintaining the lists doesn't care much about details.

In the end I believe that the product search page is the authority:
http://www.lcb.state.pa.us/webApp/Product_Manageme nt/psi_ProductDefault_Inter.asp
Deselect every checkbox in the "Search for:" section except "Chairman's", and with nothing else filled in click on search. If it gets listed in the results then it's part of the Chairman's Selection or Sommelier Collection. But that's just my best guess, in the end I'm in the dark as much as everyone else.

Just got confirmation that the wines you mention above are in fact Premium Power Purchase wines and were listed on the Upcoming Chairman's Selection page on the LCB site by mistake.
