PLCB and Rosé wines

What is it with PLCB and dry rosé? Rosé wines are rarely featured as Chairman's Selection wines, and there aren't many dry rosés offered besides Mouton Cadet Bordeaux rosé and a few others. PLCB should offer a better selection of dry rosé from the better-known rosé producing areas such as Provence, Tavel, Anjou, Bandol, or Rioja.

I've had this conversation with both the previous and the current luxury wine consultant at my local store, and they both agreed. Of course, they were/are powerless to do anything given the centralized buying at the PLCB. You may want to try e-mailing Harrisburg.

There have been a couple dry French Roses in the Chairman's Selection program, the most recent being this:

IMO in general the roses they've offered have been uninspiring at best. (I prefer Roses made from Grenache or Grenache-based blends but that's just me.)

I wouldn't expect to see a lot of Rose in the program. Rose has a short shelf life and at least in this country is a sort of niche product. So while some distributor may have a bunch of pallets of 2003 Rose left it wouldn't make much sense to offer it.

But that doesn't mean the LCB shouldn't offer more variety as regular or Luxury listings and promote them in-store in the summer months.

If you do come across any good ones available in stores please post!
